Grass Valley Complete Sale

Posted on Jan 4, 2011 by Alex Fice

Last summer we reported on a possible sale for the remainder of the Grass Valley family which included cameras and most of their broadcast products but not the transmission and head-end business or the post production business which was sold off a couple of years ago. Also included were the majority of the R&D and sales centres.

As of January 1 Grass Valley is now part of Francisco Partners, one of the world’s largest technology-focused private equity funds. The mood coming out of the new Grass Valley is understandably bullish and one of pride in its new found independence.

There is even a new web site to make sure everyone knows the conclusion of the sale
