Next on Netflix: What’s coming in 2025

Posted on Feb 7, 2025 by Admin

Next on Netflix set the stage for an exciting 2025, with a lineup packed with new series, films and live events

The annual Next on Netflix event offers a first look at the programmes expected to make the biggest impact this year on the global streaming service. With familiar content and entirely new series and films to watch, Netflix aims to maintain its high viewership with this diverse list.

This new slate features over 80 additions to the platform, including content like The Residence, a whodunnit series set in the White House, and The Electric State, a sci-fi film with cinematography by Stephen F. Windon, known for the Fast & Furious franchise.

While Bridgerton was Netflix’s most popular show at the start of 2024, with over 91 million views, subscribers will have to wait until 2026 for its next instalment. Instead, other highly streamed shows will return, such as Squid Game Season Three, the conclusion to Netflix’s most popular non-English series.

Following the success of multiple limited series on Netflix, this year’s lineup includes shows like Zero Day, which is set to release this month.

Next on Netflix also revealed the company’s aim to continue adding content of different genres. Following the positive response to drama movies, Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein is a notable addition to the slate.

Aside from the list released at Next on Netflix, the platform is also venturing into new broadcasting sectors, including live streaming services. This process has begun with weekly WWE events, paving the way for more live content in the future.
