Returning for its third edition, the CVP Education Festival hits London 4-6 November, bringing together educators, students and industry partners to inspire the next generation of creators and explore the future of film and content production.

Across four venues and three packed days, the festival combines active product demos, workshops, presentations and networking sessions, offering a unique chance to get up close and personal with the latest kit, foster new connections and learn more about CVP’s full-service offering.

Championing education

As a leading European reseller, CVP has supported the global filmmaking community for nearly 40 years with cutting-edge cinematography and video kit. With the company working closely with universities, film schools and training institutions across the UK, education has always been central to that mission. CVP provides everything from one-off equipment orders to the design and installation of complete production and post facilities, guided by education and project management teams with real-world experience.

The CVP Education Festival is a natural extension of this investment in learning; bridging the gap between industry and academia through connecting creatives and giving direct access to the tools and techniques shaping production today.

Hands-on learning

This year’s Education Festival delivers a busy schedule of expert-led sessions with working filmmakers and technical specialists. Attendees can get hands-on with the latest equipment from leading brands such as: RED, Sony, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Blackmagic Design and more.

Some highlights for 2025 include:

  • Shooting Podcasts: From solo set-ups to multicam productions with Ollie Kenchington

Don’t miss out!

The CVP Education Festival provides a dynamic and engaging platform for creatives to explore CVP’s growing ecosystem of educational support, technical services and industry engagement, with services including:

  • Professional repairs and engineering services
  • Flexible finance options
  • Roadshows and on-campus demos
  • Event partnerships and creative collaborations
  • Opportunities to buy and sell used equipment

Building connections

Beyond the masterclasses and talks, the festival helps to build connections. Attracting a wide audience made up of creators, emerging filmmakers, students and education decision-makers – from heads of film and media departments to technical leads – as well as industry practitioners, it’s a chance to meet other individuals working across film, television and content production, and possibly find a new collaborator for your next project.

Networking receptions take place on 4 and 5 November following the day’s sessions, providing an informal setting to continue conversations and share ideas. On Tuesday evening, you can also catch the International Moving Image Society (IMIS) hosting Future-Proofing Film and TV Courses: Bridging the gap between higher education and industry, exploring how institutions can stay aligned with the fast-changing needs of production.

Driving sustainability

Sustainability is becoming a central conversation across film and television production, and CVP is working to lead by example. Through offering repairs, trading used equipment and initiatives like CVP Auctions, the company promotes a circular model that keeps kit in use for longer and reduces waste. Beyond its customer offering, CVP is taking steps to reduce its own environmental footprint, with a goal of achieving net carbon zero by 2030. Visitors to the festival can learn about these initiatives and explore ways to build more sustainable practices into their own production workflows.

Opening doors

The CVP Education Festival is about opening doors – whether it’s through demystifying cutting-edge techniques, introducing the latest tools or enabling the sharing of knowledge, ideas and experience. By connecting education to industry, it empowers the next generation with the understanding and resources to help them thrive in today’s rapidly evolving production landscape.
