New Pylon Cameras Get Deployed at Super Bowl 50

Super Bowl 50 had 16 pylon-based cameras to give fans, officials, coaches, and players the ultimate view of the end zone. Pylon Cam was conceived as an advanced application of Admiral Video’s FiOPS (Fiber Optic POV Camera System) Point of View camera in late 2014 and improvements have continued during the testing period. Flexibility and player safety have been the company’s primary concern during development. Additional benefits include high reliability, remotely adjustable video parameters and the ability to change lenses without disassembling the pylon. Currently the system is installed on a “per game” basis.
“To get to the world’s largest sporting stage in such a short period of time is humbling” said Paul Halsey the President of Admiral Video. “I am extremely grateful to the NFL and CBS Sports for putting their trust in our company”. Halsey has been involved in many Super Bowls in the past 30 years but this will be his first as a Vendor.
