VFX studio REALTIME launches a new virtual production division led by Annie Shaw, backed by a MediaCity grant to develop a proprietary VP tool
VFX studio REALTIME has announced a new VP division to be led by Annie Shaw – former head of VP at MPC. The company’s experience in Unreal Engine and immersive tech has landed it a grant from Greater Manchester’s MediaCity to develop a proprietary game-engine-based VP tool.
The tool will support film, TV and game production, helping teams from pre-production to post.
“It’s not about flashy tech, though we have that too! It’s about giving a wider variety of projects access to real-time technologies and having a strong internal team to assess where a VP toolbox can add value, visibility and control for clients,” explains Shaw.
The team also includes BAFTA-nominated VFX supervisor James Coore, who directed the VP for Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary episode.
