The Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center offers state-of-the-art VP tech for students and the film industry, thanks to a generous donation

NYU Tisch School of the Arts has officially opened the new Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at Industry City in Brooklyn, marking a significant step forward in VP education and training.

The 45,586 sq ft facility, the product of a collaboration with Lux Machina and AbelCine, offers state-of-the-art resources for both NYU students as well as the broader film industry.

Named in honour of the legendary Martin Scorsese, it was funded by a historic donation from the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundations.

The hub features cutting-edge VP tech, including a 180° LED volume and a motion capture system powered by Vicon’s Shōgun software. Students can also get flight time with ARRI ALEXA cameras and ZEISS lenses provided by AbelCine.
