Media Production and Technology Show – Registration now open and new features announced for 2020

Posted on Jan 6, 2020 by Alex Fice

The organisers of the Media Production and Technology Show 2020 are delighted to announce that registration for this year’s event, which takes place 13-14 May at London Olympia, is now open

Featuring over 180 leading exhibitors on its show floor and 220 key industry speakers at its insightful panels and discussions, the must-attend content and technology show for the UK media and broadcast industries is projected to attract over 8000+ attendees. 95% of the exhibition space for the 2020 event is already sold, highlighting the strength of its position on the tradeshow calendar as the leading tradeshow in the UK.

The Broadcast Sport zone has doubled in size for 2020, featuring key exhibitors in the field including Gravity Media, NEPand The Switch. Debuting for the first time is the Technology Theatre, sponsored by Ross Video, which reflects the event’s official rebadging from the Media Production Show to the Media Production and Technology Show. As part of the show’s key focus for growth in 2020, the new theatre will have over 100 seats and will focus on a number of speakers discussing the latest innovations and trends fresh from NAB 2020.

Partnering with MPTS for the first time is the DPP. DPP Managing Director, Mark Harrison says “The DPP is delighted to be collaborating with the Media Production & Technology Show in 2020, with our first ever DPP Theatre. MPTS attracts an incredible range of companies and visitors; put them together with the expertise the DPP can draw upon from its 400+ member companies, and we have an opportunity to generate some fantastic discussion and debate around the key topics in the media industry.”

Charlotte Wheeler, Event Director, commented: “The production, craft, and creative elements that have made the show such a success over recent years remain central to our focus. That hasn’t changed, nor will it; it’s written into the show’s DNA. But by adding a further technology element to the show we are able to grow it and make it an even better arena for telling the entire and continually evolving story of the current TV, film, broadcast, and media markets.”

With its program of presentations being seen as increasingly influential and attracting a heavy hitting line-up of industry thought-leaders, 2020’s seminar schedule is being developed in conjunction with SMPTE.

Barbara Lange, Executive Director of SMPTE commented: “As the next generation of the UK’s leading media production event, the Media Production & Technology Show 2020 will bring professionals in TV, film, and the creative sector an exceptional program of presentations and exhibits, with a newly robust focus on technology. SMPTE will serve as an MPTS partner in developing programming for this show, and we’re thrilled to be curating a series of presentations by experts and executives on how current and emerging technologies are shaping the future of media production and post.”
