Posted on Nov 2, 2010 by Alex Fice

Grass Valley’s Edius Neo 3Grass Valley has launched EDIUS Neo 3 with increased speed, wider format support, and improved system efficiency and the ability to work with video formats up to 1080 50/60p resolution.

EDIUS Neo 3 claims to have the fastest native AVCHD editing capability in the industry that requires no transcoding, even when different compression formats and image resolutions are mixed on the timeline.

New features include ‘3D Layouter’, a tool for managing 3D digital effects, an audio mixer, full-screen preview and motion menus for DVD and Blu-ray Disc production.

Grass Valley say that EDIUS Neo 3 can be used as a low-cost editing platform for education, providing a stepping-stone in terms of usability to the full version of EDIUS, which is used in many broadcast stations and independent post production facilities.

It also includes support for Grass Valley’s HDSPARK and FIRECODER Blu hardware boards, to enhance the video editing and distribution experiences.

Grass Valley’s EDIUS Neo 3 software will begin shipping in this month, with prices ranging from US$229 to $749, depending upon hardware configuration.
