Made with users in mind, Aputure’s Spotlight Mount II brings creative freedom to studio and on-location lighting, letting filmmakers shape light as needed
Aputure has announced the Spotlight Mount II ellipsoidal projector, alongside a range of new accessories. The latest addition to its lighting lineup introduces an updated optical design and expanded creative control for users working across studio and on-location set-ups.
Designed as an optical modifier for ProLock and Bowens mount lights up to 800W, Spotlight Mount II is optimised for use with the STORM 400x and STORM 700x. Four interchangeable lenses – 19°, 26°, 36° and an ultra-wide 50° – offer flexibility across different shooting setups, while a rotating barrel allows for precise alignment.
The new optical design delivers a clean, even beam and also supports B-size gobos in both metal and glass, offering a broader range of projection options.
Developed in response to user feedback, the Spotlight Mount II reflects Aputure’s focus on refining its tools. “We looked at all of the feature requests clients have made and completely overhauled the design of the projector,” explains Mitch Gross, director of marketing at Aputure. “The new optical design is significantly brighter with a more even beam when used with our modern STORM 400x and 700x lights.”
All of these updates come without increasing the overall size or weight of the fixture. This allows users to benefit from the improved optical performance and added features without compromising on portability or ease of use, wherever a project goes.
The Spotlight Mount II is available for purchase with any one of its four lenses included along with a soft case. Additional lenses can be purchased separately, while a dedicated case option allows multiple lenses to be stored together.
