Airdog – Your Own Personal GoPro Drone

Posted on Jun 16, 2014 by Alex Fice

A new Kickstarter project is AirDog, which takes the active sports photography market to a new level of sophistication. It’s pledging process is up and open for support. AirDog allows you to have their drone ‘track you’ at a pre-programmed height and have a GoPro camera pointed at you.

Continuing the ‘dog’ analogy to control the drone you wear the transmitter which is called the AirLeash. To begin with this Latvian start-up has allowed six different follow flight modes including a ‘follow me’ mode and a ‘hover and aim’ mode.

Other parameters are controlled by a smartphone app. Not sure if these include control over the camera.

Airdog should retail at around US$1500 but will be less if you pledge on KickStarter.

AirDog uses a 2 axis gyro-stabilised gimbal.
