ICFF returns to Bitola
The 46th Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers’ Film Festival (ICFF) returns to Bitola, Macedonia from 20 to 26 September. This year, the Special Golden Camera 300 for outstanding contribution to world cinematic art is awarded to Semih Kaplanoglu, a central figure in modern Turkish cinema celebrated for his meditative storytelling. The Great Star of Macedonian Cinema award will honour Kiril Džajkovski, whose work blends film, music and cultural identity. The main competition presents a selection of films from Cannes, Berlin, Venice and other leading festivals. The festival will open with the Macedonian premiere of Mother by Teona Strugar Mitevska, following its Venice debut, and close with Georgi M Unkovski’s DJ Ahmet, a Sundance award winner making its national premiere.
Wildscreen launches industry summit
Wildscreen, an environmental charity connecting film, TV and photography creatives with conservationists, is holding its inaugural Industry Summit from 20 to 22 October. Bringing together leaders in natural history production, the programme promises thought-provoking panels, exclusive screenings, practical workshops and networking opportunities. Speakers include Vanessa Berlowitz and Victoria Noble, co-founders of Wildstar Films, and Tom McDonald, executive vice president (global factual and unscripted) at National Geographic. Don’t miss the screening of Trade Secret at Bristol Megascreen, followed by a Q&A with director Abraham Joffe, on Monday 20 October. Session topics explore community-driven storytelling, how to diversify income streams and more; while in-person, one-to-one speed networking and craft workshops will connect attendees and teach practical skills. The summit will be a hybrid event held at Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, with live streams available online.
NAB NYC
The film, TV and broadcast industries will head to Javits Center for NAB Show New York 2025, taking place on 22 and 23 October. The conference will feature a distinct focus on each day: Business of Broadcast & Media and Future of Content. The first discusses scaling creative content and building revenue, while the latter explores AI, viral campaigns, immersive tech and other innovations.
Industry pros will also be leading training and education panels; paid programmes include Local TV Strategies and Post | Production World. Attendees can expect to discover exhibitors showcasing technology and tools in Hall 3E.
The NAB Leadership Foundation Career Fair will also offer early-stage professionals a chance to meet recruiters and share their resumés with top media organisations, and there will be plenty of opportunities for networking.

Getting ready for Cine Gear ATL
Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia is hosting Cine Gear ATL Expo 2025 from 3 to 4 October. Tailored to filmmakers, the conference offers talks led by industry experts, camera gear and post-production tool displays in the exhibitor hall, and opportunities to connect with creators and innovators.
Seminar sessions will be held throughout the first day and until 2pm on the second day – the full schedule can be viewed on the Cine Gear ATL website from September.
As one of the premier events for the technology, entertainment and media industry, Cine Gear unites filmmaking professionals from across the globe to share knowledge, gain skills and training, and exhibit the latest in innovative cinema technology.
Media Tech Summit back for 2025
BAFTA is accelerating climate change and sustainability awareness with its Green Light Season, launched 19 June in partnership with albert. The season brings a roster of talks, screenings, panels and more across the UK, opening with a screening of Ocean with David Attenborough. The documentary’s co-director Keith Scholey joins other participating names like Tom Beck, head of live events and commissioning editor for reality and entertainment on Channel 4, and Emily Hudd, executive producer on several of Joe Lycett’s sustainability-focused programmes, in helping BAFTA albert to promote climate-positive production.

New Lightcraft hub supercharges production
Lightcraft Technology has announced Spark, a new online live collaborative platform connecting and augmenting traditional filmmaking tools with AI. “Spark knocks aside filmmaking barriers and unifies all the talents of a team within a single system,” shared Eliot Mack, CEO and founder of Lightcraft.
Composed of four sections – Spark Shot, Live, Atlas and Forge – the system is designed to streamline ideation, shot development and production workflows. Spark’s release is planned for 2026, with a preview displayed on Booth 710 at SIGGRAPH 2025. This follows VP tool Jetset winning product of the year at the 2025 NAB Show Las Vegas.
The Nanlite wand makes lighting magic
A handy, compact wand light is the latest release from Nanlite, offering a bright, concentrated beam.
