Dimension Live advances real-time entertainment spaces

Posted on Feb 13, 2025 by Admin

Dimension has used its expertise in virtual production to launch a new division to assist with live entertainment

Dimension Live, a recently developed initiative by Dimension, is now bringing real-time virtual production to live entertainment. Expanding beyond film and TV, the division aims to support music and stage performances, concerts, live attractions and location-based entertainment.

The launch targets live productions by offering customised end-to-end services. From generating early-stage concepts to providing on-site execution, Dimension Live seeks to support partners throughout the creative process.

As well as this individualised serviced, Mark Bustard, executive producer for Dimension Live, has integrated techniques like instantaneous rendering into the division to immerse audiences. “We are bringing the power and agility of real-time technologies to the design and delivery of new concepts that create the highest-quality experiences for audiences looking to be entertained on a whole other level.”

Overall, this launch comes with the intention of making live events more efficient and cost-effective by streamlining the production process. Procedures like concurrent workflows aid development and delivery, compared to traditional industry approaches involving manual setup and pre-recording.

The division has already gained momentum, partnering with HERE at Outernet to produce four nights of shows by electronic musician Floating Points and harpist Miriam Adefris. This event marks the first time in a live show that Dimension has provided ongoing virtual lighting and a digital extension of the venue, visible to crowds on the venue’s LED volume.

“Thanks to our expertise in virtual production, what Dimension Live offers is an incredibly unique service for clients and partners across the live events industry,” Bustard says. “We are bringing the power and agility of real-time technologies to the design and delivery of new concepts that create the highest-quality experiences for audiences looking to be entertained on a whole other level.”
