Cisco Launch Tablet with 720p Video

Posted on Jun 30, 2010 by Alex Fice

The Cisco Cius is primarily for the business community but does have 720p video on-board for tele conferencingCisco Systems, owners of the Flip camera range, have just launched their own tablet product which shoots 720p video. The Cius tablet is built on the Android operating system so is open for the Android apps. The screen is a 7 inch colour version with touch sensitive controls. Fully wi-fi, bluetooth, 3G/4G and USB connectivity from the get go.

The forward-facing, integrated HD (720p and 30 fps) video camera has zoom functions. The rear-facing, high-resolution 5-megapixel camera enables real-time, VGA-quality (640 x 480) video capture and still-photo capture.

Cisco are careful to label this product for business but you’re sure to see a consumer device arriving probably under their Flip brand. The Cius plugs in to the Cisco networks and cloud computing is a major part of it’s appeal.

Stuffy now but maybe sexy and a worry for iPad sometime soon.
