
Panasonic’s ‘Third Inch Sensor’ HPX250 Gets BBC Approval

The Panasonic HPX250 now on the BBC approved camera listBBC approves the Panasonic AG-HPX250EJ P2HD camera recorder for BBCHD use by both BBC and non-BBC production teams. The camera has a 1/3inch sensor and with full HD recording to P2 cards and with the AVC Intra codec as an option. Recordings are 10-bit 4:2:2and the built in lens zooms to x22 with a variable frame rate (VFR) function for slow-motion and quick-motion images, and a cine-like gamma setting.
The only other third inch sensor camera approved in this way by the BBC is the Canon XF305/300 camera.
