As part of its plans to go global, Mativision, the 360˚ video and Virtual Reality (VR) technology company, has opened its new head office in London’s Shoreditch.

For more than seven years, since its inception in 2008 by Anthony Karydis, Mativision has been creating truly immersive experiences for brands and entertainment businesses by giving them the ability to film and broadcast in full 360˚ vision and VR.

While many companies in the VR space have targeted the filming technology behind VR, Mativision has created a point of difference by looking at the delivery and broadcast of VR content, and built its own bespoke, fully customisable VR player.

Most recently, Mativision provided live VR and 360˚ video content for the 2015 MTV EMAs, which was live streamed from Milan. It also delivered 360˚ streamed content from the RUN-DMC and Raleigh Richie gig, which was part of Vodafone’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Other landmark clients include Muse and American Idol.

Some of Mativision’s biggest deals have already been done through the UK, and Karydis knew that for the business to open up to a global market it needed to relocate its head office. As Shoreditch is firmly in the production and technology spotlight the move was a natural choice.
